Mission and Vision

Mission Vision Header

Every church needs to have a mission statement that answers the question, “Why do we exist?”  At First Church, we filter every idea, program, and budget request through our mission and vision statements. If what we plan doesn’t help us meet our mission, or if it doesn't line up with who we really are, then we don’t do it.

Our Mission: To help people find and follow Jesus.

Our Vision: To transform our various communities by changing ordinary people into extraordinary followers of Christ.

Worship Experiences

The worship experiences are designed specifically to create a church experience that unchurched people love to attend, and that ministers to believers. The music is culturally appropriate. The messages are relevant. There is a ministry-wide quest to be biblically accurate yet radically innovative. Additionally, children are a top priority, so there are engaging programs just for them during the worship experiences.

Luke 19:10: "For the Son of Man came to seek out and to save the lost."

1 Corinthians 9:22b "I try to find common ground with everyone so that I might bring them to Christ. I do all this to spread the Good News, and in doing so, I enjoy its blessings."

Small Groups & Ministry Teams

Small groups and ministry teams are the heartbeat of First Church. They are where real relationships take place as people of all generations, cultures, and backgrounds gather together to grow and to serve. These small groups and ministry teams meet at various times and in various locations, and are designed to impact their community. Small groups and ministry teams are a great way to get closer to God, care for one another, and meet new people.

Matthew 20:28 "For even I, the Son of Man, came here not to be served but to serve others, and to give my life as a ransom for many."

Local & Global Missions

First Church seeks to maintain a strong missional focus locally, nationally and globally. Locally, our heart is to impact the city of Warren, as well as Trumbull County and the surrounding areas for Christ by reaching out to the hurting and forgotten. Realizing that we are part of a global society, we also seek to extend the reach of the church through national and international missions.

Since hurricane Katrina hit in 2005 we have deployed more than 30 mission teams to various disaster sites throughout the United States, and been a part of several international mission trips.

Acts 1:8 "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
